Vintage book cover altered into journal cover - Part 1 of my thatsjustpenny's STEAMPUNK OWL OF TIME MINI JOURNAL DIGIKIT

I found this book in a heap of old books in a charity shop, and picked it up for the cover.
I thought it would make a great journal cover.
It is 6.5" high and 4.5" wide

I decided that it was perfect for thatsjustpenny's
STEAMPUNK  OWL OF TIME MINI JOURNAL DIGIKIT

I wanted to keep some of the elements on the cover and so I used collage, pencils
and sanding to add collage to the cover.

I used a STEAMPUNK  OWL OF TIME paper to make the end papers and to cover the inside of the book over the spine which was reinforced with gaffer/duct tape.

I have also made a YouTube video.

In the Clouds Art Nouveau Journal

AmyJoyStudios Design Team

This is my first project for the AmyJoyStudios Design Team.

I thought I would just show the lovely stash of papers I am using.

I found the journal in the Salvation Army Store in Mount Pleasant MI when I visited the US.

It's really pretty with a handmade paper cover, (where I have added a peacock in a frame).

It's got two sewn signatures, so the spine looks really pretty.

 And  gold end papers.

For the first page I have stamped the corner and cut out and collaged one of the lovely ladies from the kit

The first double spread has another of these gorgeous pages; the right hand side is made into a pocket for adding bits and bobs

I've got a set of art nouveau stamps so the next spread is for writing in, with decorated corners and a border

So - there is lots more to come but I am very pleased with how this has started!

Back from USA and journal completed - hooray!

Well here it is, the biggest, fattest, travel journal ever! It is jammed full of photos, memorabilia, mementoes, receipts, menus, postcards, flyers, everything I could find!

I used the first section as a record while I was in the USA and then added the photos and other pieces after I came back.

I am so pleased with it, as I have the whole trip recorded in one place.  I have not done this since I made holiday scrapbooks with the children when they
were small, and as a result I cannot find anything easily to remember trips by.

The thatsjust penny  pages have been brilliant for giving the journal a structure and a flow.

I have not shown photos of my son and daughter-in-law as I did not want to invade their privacy, but needless to say, the journal is full of them!!
